Allison and Company Will Give Men Run for the Money at Predator International 10-Ball Championship
Las Vegas, Nevada- Allison Fisher will lead a team of top female
competitors in the previously male dominated 8th Annual Predator
International 10-Ball Championship to be held May 12-17, 2008. Last
year the event hosted several female contenders including top ranked
players: Kim Shaw, Gerda Hofstatter, Anna Kostanian, and Korean champ
Yu Ram Cha. This year a total of six talented women players will enter
the field against 90 men entrants.
Fisher is no stranger to competing with the men. She bested
world-class players such as Johnny Archer, Allen Hopkins, Charlie
Williams, and Tommy Kennedy in major events.
"I have not competed at 10 ball and I am looking forward to the
challenge. I think I can do very well in the event as I have enjoyed
some good results in the past against top men players. I don't plan on
making it easy for anyone." warns Fisher.
Other top women entrants will include Gerda Hofstatter (AUT), Yu Ram
Cha (KOR), Sarah Rousey (USA), Amalia Matas (SPN), and Yukiko
Hamanishi (JPN). Not long ago, Hofstatter claimed Earl Strickland as
a victim during the IPT. Cha defeated Japan's top 10 ranked Hayato
Hijikata and later bested a field of 82 men to win the US Amateur
9-Ball Open in 2007.

Fisher has been dominant in women's billard worldwide for the past decade and still holds the #1 ranking. Hofstatter is currently ranked in the top 10 and Rousey top 12 among Americans. Cha, Matas, and
Hamanishi are all considered to be the best women's players in their
respective countries of Korea, Spain, and Japan.
"The level of play of the women has dramatically improved over the
past five years. I thought it would be a lot longer before more top
women became strong enough to compete with the men, but as a whole
they are improving quicker than most have anticipated. " acknowledged
men's pro and producer Charlie Williams. "As far as Allison Fisher goes, I can almost guarantee most of the men don't really want to draw her in the event."
The 8th Annual Predator International 10-Ball Championship will be
held in Las Vegas, NV, May 12-17,2008 during the BCAPL National 8-Ball
Championships. Matches begin on May 13 and tickets go on sale early
