"We are all very excited to team up with Dragon Promotions and be a part of this historic event! Championship Cloth has always cared about organized competitions, but now I want to revitalize the relationship with Championship and the pros, the fans, and the sport. Though we have dominated the home market for years, we feel it's equally important to give back to the sport and also show the world class quality of our Tour Edition 3030 Cloth. What better way then showing it off at the 72nd World Tournament! ", said Mike Serra, Vice-President of Championship Cloth and current Chairman of the Billiard Congress of America. Serra adds, "I've personally attended several major pool tournaments this year to get more in tune with all parts of the industry. And I must say, it's exhilarating. Our industry is not dead. All of us want to do more to support the play side, and we do see the benefits. So look for more from Championship Cloth in the very near future."
"Mike Serra and the Championship Cloth family are awesome. Besides being a fabulous manufacturer of high grade pro cloth, they are also helping us continue one of the oldest traditions in billiards. Mike has been spending a lot of time at pool tournaments and trying to get insight and solutions to help the entire billiard industry. I really respect his initiative and willingness to get in the mix," said Charlie Williams, pro tour veteran and Founder of Dragon Promotions.
America's biggest independently owned billiard company, Olhausen Tables, is once again sponsoring the event. They join European ball manufacturer Aramith and Predator Cues as repeat industry supporters of the event.
“Olhausen is looking forward to continuing our support of pool as the official table of the 72nd World Tournament of 14.1. Last year's event was highly successful and Olhausen wants to be a part of Dragon Promotions efforts in keeping Straight Pool's long tradition in the world. The World Tournament's move to New York City is exciting for all of us, and we are glad to keep it on US soil ", said Donny Olhausen, Founder and owner of Olhausen Tables. All Olhausen Tables are built in Portland, Tennessee and have been American made since 1973.

Championship Cloth is a division of D & R Industries, Inc. which began in 1963 in a small apartment in Chicago, Illinois. Through the years, D & R Industries, Inc. went through many changes and expanded into a variety of recreation-oriented businesses, but really found its niche within the billiard industry. After distributing billiard fabrics for more than 25 years, it was clear to D & R that there was a need for affordable high quality billiard fabrics. Thus, a team consisting of engineers, textile experts and old time billiard people worked together to develop what is now known as the "Championship Line" of billiard fabrics. Championship's expert team of engineers and experts worked for over five years to develop the finest billiard cushion rubber in the industry. A decade later, Championship's cushion rubber can already be found on the tables of many of today's major billiard table manufacturers. More recently Championship acquired major billiard supplier MBS Group, which has substantially expanded Championship further. D & R has now been a proud staple of the billiard industry for almost 50 years providing the finest billiard fabrics, cushion rubber and component parts. Today Championship now sells more billiard fabric than all of its major competitors combined. Please visit www.champbilliards.com
